Yes, I heard that. It's a big joke to me. But that will probably be my, don't like the machinedrum... I like to do the drums with my fingers not with a stepseq - works way to slow for me.

High possiblitiy that the 2500 will be release at the end of this year according to Akai Japan. It is the replacement of the 2000XL with some features of the 1000 and higher ppq resolution. That all i know. What is will not have is firewire, real-time timestretch like the MV8000, or a battery pack. But it will not be as advanced as the 4k in terms of a full sampler. It is 75% near completion. My own thoughts it is just an increase eqs, filtler, sequencing and i/o options for 2k and 2kxl users. Enjoy the tools you have. If you a brand new pick it up and master it. Email Akai Pro for more details. :D

Where's the real evidence that this fantasy even exists?? This rumor has been floating and for about 3 years now. I always see messages from folks saying, "I heard, " or, "a friend that works for...." It means nothing without any real proof. Where's a link?, a cut and paste?, something more than empty words.

FFS its plain fooking obvious that its the 2KXL thats going to get the upgrade, its the oldest one in the current range for starters... thats bleeding evidence enough.

Blue Haze seems to have links with akai so I trust what he says, but from what he's just said sounds like akai have already cocked it up....
