Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey have a little zip disk problem. i have about 7 zip disks and only one works with both my mpc and my computer. all of the others either only work with the mpc meaning no "disk read error" and the others my computer wont read. ive formatted the ones i can but it still doesnt work. can anyone tell me what im doin wrong. thanks

Im havin that same annoying problem i formated um even got the mpc editor from midicase and still couldnt format read or nuthin
niether of my computers can see the zip disks
any one know how this canbe remedied if it cant im hoppin on a card reader real quick.

You need to format the disc on a PC as a FAT. The mpc and your computer will be able to read that.

I still recommend the card reader over the zip, you never know when these zips will go out.

Not completely true or complete. Depends on the software utility doing the formatting and under which PC OS. Formatting as FAT on 2k/XP is not the same as formatting as FAT under Win9x and still not the same as FAT using Iomega's disk formatter.

So is there an answer to this? It sux if the ZIP disks are gonna be a problem.

Well, sooner or later zips are gonna go bad and cause problems. I've had several issues with them, so I switched to the card reader.
