pros and cons of a multi track

I been thinking about buying a mulit track recorder workstation
and running my mpc trough that instead of software.I know about
computers but I want to get more experience with hardware.
I also know that a workstation is only a computer program with buttons.
but its something about touching those button(like a honey's fat ass) that turn me on.
I was wondering is anyone doing this and what are advantages
and disadvantages.

Wassup Frog, Ya can be forgiven as theres a recent post but in the 1k forum bout this, called digital 8 track or some't.
Im in exactly same position at mo, Im going for one when ive got the spare Deniro, really p!**ed me off couple days ago a DPS 12i went on Ebay in UK for £130. Seems good price for what they originally cost..But no spare wonga at the mo :x

Behringer just put out the bcf 2000 which has motorized faders and buttons for real cheap

maybe this would make your cpu setup more usable?

^^been thinkin bout gettin one of those,are they pretty easy to use or more less 2 set up to prog?

get a computer it is the present and future so learn it. i got a fast computer with a mckie control an 2 mackie extenders. that is 24 tracks of 100mm faders. enough to keep my hands on.

I used to record all my stuff on hardware then went to software. However, I'm just a hardware kinda dude so I copped the Roland VS-1680. It's very satisfying once you know how to really operate it . However, software is more user friendly but I'm sticking to my hardware.

I still don't know how to use my 840ex all that well.But i prefer hardware.Computers crash and if you don't back up your tracks and everything is on your computer,it's a wrap.
