mpc2000 sounds in cool edit?

anyone know:

how to open sounds from an mpc disk into cool edit so that it sounds normal


and also what format to save sounds in so that they work on an mpc

well, you'd have to somehow convert the .snd files (sound files from the mpc) into .wav files so cool edit can read them

the mpc can read .wav and .snd files, and.....thats it i think as far as sound files go

To my knowledge the 2000 doesn't read Wav. files only .Snd files.
The 2000XL reads Wav.

let me explain what happened...i sampled a dre snare with the mpc, saved it to disk. and i can open that with cool edit and it sounds normal

however, when i tried to open a snare sound from an mpc2000 disk (funk set), it opened- but it was two successive clicks. i could tell that it was meant to be the snare but it was a high pitched double version

i'll check out that mpc editor though, thanks


oh, and the mpc2000 can read wavs, i've saved wav sounds from my computer and loaded them up in the mpc fine

yea the 2000 reads .wav files. you just cant SAVE a sound as a .wav file from the 2000.

that happened to me before. i think it has to do with the .wav format the sample was saved in. try saving it as a 44100 16 bit stereo file (i think)

and try that.....and try what homer said with the editor. i was never pleased with the editor myself, but oh well...
