What would be the best MPC to get since I'm just starting?

I wanted a 4000 but should I get something different?

it really depends on what you are going to use it for...

are you simply going to use it for sequencing? do u use a computer? do you want to use it as your powerhorse (sampler, sequencer, etc..)

if you are a computer guy I would suggest the 1000 (it's very user-friendly/usb/digitally constructed.)

but - if you are a head ready to learn what it makes to make music, sampling, chopping, looping, stabbing, making beats yadda yadda yadda- I would go with a classic 2000 or 2000 XL ..... you can make hot beats from start to finish with an MPC 2000 and more kats on here ( myself included) dedicate their lives to this machine - it is one of the easiest to use, has been around longere than the other MPC's and costs less than the 4000 or 3000

check out ebay - check out the for sale forum on here - save up 550-900 bux and read read read the posts on here - it's up to you

yo ghost get the 2000xl and you good man. its user friendly and u can make dope tracks. i warn u tho, ur gonna get addicted

The 2k is solid.Xl has a few more features,but either is reasonable and won't be so hard on the wallet.

1000 = 2000 with resampling, effects, 6 outs right out the box, cf card storage, and 128 mb ram

It really depends on how much you want your mpc to do with a 4000 you got the top of the line ,1000 entry level but still very powerful.

I luv my 2KXL. But if I was starting out... I'd go with the 1K also. I like the usb hook up plus I'm a cheap bastard!

i would have got the 2kxl, but with the 1000 having usb and cf cards, that was more than enough to sway my decision

get the 4k if you can yeah its a little learning curve but if you give your self time and realize that rome wasnt built in one day you be very happy in the future. im not knockin the others this is just my opinion

if you don't like using the computer, don't get the 1K, i love the 1K but i don't like using computers to make music and i am starting to doubt the myth about a timestretch update, thinking about trading up for a 2kxl. don't get me wrong the 1k is awesome and i learn new ways to freak it everyday but i am really starting to crave the stretch/chop/zone features without using software.

which may not be a big deal if you've never used it, but is invaluable once you've figured it out.
