I'm torn!!!!!!

There's a pawn shop I know of that has an s950 w/ ib-109 SCSI. Thing is, it's missing a few knobs and doesn't power up.

I was messing around with the ES-1 and the SP-202 and they are both ill. The 202 is mad fun though!!! You can really freak ish.

Drop some knowledge, fellas!!!

What route would you take..?

grab the 202, you can real time timestretch IIRC< and it runs on baterries so you can sample on the go and come back and sequence it on your 60 through midi.

the ES is alright, but don't buy broken gear unless you can fix it.

might be worth picking up the s950 - how much is it? you could always keep the card to add to a working s950... it may also have extra memory that you could use to upgrade a stock s950.

true, but buying broken for a new guy might be harder, he probably just wants to get busy.

Nothing special about the Electribe they do offer a cheap price for some usable performance.
SP-202's are like ugly chics, they are everywhere and easy to get at.
SP-202 ($50-119 USD)
S-950 w/SCSI broke or otherwise is a rare thing.
How much do they want for it? That's the real thing to look at.
Buy the 950 from the pawn shop, then find another 950 to put the SCSI in.
Then sell the broken 950 on eBay after you have it working.
Newbie or not it's a move to regret later.
