SCSI Problems - Couldn't find the answer in manual

Tried connecting my Iomega 100MB SCSI Zip tonight and here is what my MPC-60 told me:

Attention!
No SCSI device found. Make sure the SCSI device is connected, power is on and "AUTO" or the correct SCSI address is entered in the "SCSI Status" screen. [Error Code: FF48]

Can anyone lend me a helping hand..?

Stick a disk in there, ignore the warning, hit format scsi disk, it should start formatting and afterwards it will recognise.

You have the termination switch on the back of the zip set to on right?

There was actually a disk in the drive.

Yes, termination was switched on...

Faulty drive maybe..?

Do you have the correct SCSI ID set?

According to the manual, if you only have one SCSI device hooked up, the SCSI ID should be set to "AUTO" and it will locate the drive on it's own.

I tried it both ways, setting the ID to 5 and AUTO and the same thing happened each time.

Tried again but to no avail...

You bought it from Redgreenz right? Why don't you holla at him about it. Since it was his MP he should know whatsup.

Yeah, I just talked to him. He told me to that in order for the 60 to recognize the Zip drive/disk that I would have to format the disk using the MPCeditor software.

I'm not sure about that. On the 3k..you format the disk using the MP. I always pop in the zip..make the mp recognize it and then format it on the mp. Try it in the editor and see. If that works then good.

Just tried it with the editor....

Connected the drive to the computer and tried it with four disks - No go.

Still getting the same error message on the 60.

Am I doomed to noobdom forever..? LOL. Damn.
