What else should i buy with my bday money

I am going to buy the mpc 2000 from my friend for 400. I was going to get cubase to have a program to record into, but i dont know what is the best version to get.I have a laptop and i wanted to know how to hook the mpc up to my laptop. And with some extra cash i was going to go buy a turntable from the pawn shop...what do i need to hook that up to my mpc.? and what else should i be interested in buying with my mpc.(if i can sell some beats i am going to buy a roland fantom xa) and do they have any 2000 insturuction videos

you need the basics son! Cop your MPC, a used turntable with a (preferrably) new stylus and headshell (you dont want to muffle your sampled sounds), and cop a used mixer (any basic 2 channel will do - you just need to preamp your table)

send your MPC into an amp with some speakers and start learnin your style man - put in that work, spend time on here and you'll see everything fall into place

i was wonderin why i dont get a good signal from my turntable. its real high on the high end when i play records. i can hardly hear the low end. i need to get a good sound from it.

what do you mean by preamp...i dont know much about this stuff

Delta1010 or 1040 is a good card to use.And by preamp they mean a receiver/transmitter that boost the signal.Sort of like a mixer but cheaper and without the slides/fader.

Its gonna have to be a Phono RIAA Preamp. Dont confuse it with a mike preamp. Most dj mixers have them or you can buy them off ebay as little boxes that are jsut the phono preamp. Id get a dj mixer though

ok so with the phono preamp, it has outputs on the back (obviously)...but are they 1/4" outputs at least? i dont like the way i have to connect the rca plugs into my mixer. i just dont get a good sound that way....gotta be a better way! atleast with the 1/4" outputs, i can use an instrument cable instead of the rca cables

i had the same problem.. u need a truntable mixer.. that ground wire has to be grounded... is it grounded? once u get the turntable mixer and have that ground wire grounded.. you will get the complete sound from your tables.

Im not sure if there are shortcuts or another way to ground without a turntable mixer.. I'm sure someone will let us know tho.. but that is what I did.
