i've read the manual and cant figure it out for ish.. went to a couple of websites but no one seem to know how to do it...

someone told me to hoop the usb up to the comp and and delete the INTERNAL memory from their,, but its not working.when you connect the usb to the comp it only recognizes the compact flash card and not the internal memory... i go to "utility" and its says "DO:format" at the top and "Device : memory card" and using the data wheel its doesnt change to internal memory...

my bro deleted the internal memory before but i think he did it by mistake cuz he has absolutely no idea on how to do it again..

hit the search button, search for internal memory, and when you click search, a giant cock will come out of your screen and slap you on the face.

...i managed to erace all of my internal ram by tricking my mpc. i loaded all of its internal memory. eraced 1 sample per kit in the trim menu and saved to the internal memory.now what the mpc does is it eraces all old saves before it saves a new one so i waited until it reached 100% in its erasing screen then turned it off. turned it back on and there u have it it eraced its own memory. ready to go at full service...

...BOOOM!!!! nah im fukn wit, u its completely safe. :D

for the 1000th time read the manual bottom of page 83 tells u how to deactivate the autoload folder thats all u can do u cannot i repeat cannot erase the internal memory because page 88 on the bottom it tells u how to reinitialize the factory preset settings this is embedded in the memory and cannot be erased but can be prevented from autoloading

Oh word? Hmmm, thats my-t strange to say the least. that doesn't explain explain why akai offers free downloads foroll of its factory pre-set kits( cf & internal), or why mine was able to be eraced maximizing its memory. :?

yeah seriously isnt that weird.. it has be able to be erased if they have the preset in their website.. cuz if you cant remove it like most say then whats the point of them putting the preset in their website??

anyway the trim thing worked.. but it doesnt restore to 16mb like i trimed a sample down.. and even THAT takes space.. albeit its like 5kb etc.. .

maybe i could email akai and ask em....

It is impossible to clear it fully, unless you wanna hack the gibson.
you must save something there for some reason, no idea why.
just turn on your mpc, record 1 millisecond of silence. then save all programs and samples to internal memory, it'll take about 3-4 minutes.

i have NFI why so many people ask about the internal memory, there is REALLY no point in using it, its REALLY slow loading, its TINY, and just use **** CF cards.

and pls, next time search first.

theres no way ur going to be able to acess the full 16mb's after erasure mainly because there is the OS in place as well as stock parameters saved at all times outside of just the accessable waves and seq's and pgm's but removing those sounds will give you a little(very) more room to sample when/ if needed. unless you get the memory upgrade this'll be ur only shot.

as am observer, i will play the part of scorekeeper here.

istayongrind loses real hard to samurairisms in this post, i have rarely seen such a flagrantly callous browbeating.

a giant cock will slap you in the face...dude fukking 10 points for that one. i laughed so hard.

stayongrind, your response of "**** flowers" was not nearly sufficient. you lose 3 points for that, because not only did you prove yourself a homophobic dumbass, your wit did not shine as beautifully as samuraiisms.

the next exchange got a little interesting. samurai attempted to speak rationally, and pulled it off very well - yes, indeed, this is in the mpc1000 manual on page 83. no, people should NOT have to ask this question, and anyoen asking on the forums about internal memory should probably be ritualistically sacrificed to Kali. his well structured arguments were impressive. another 10 points. perfect score.

istayongrind's response, illed with stars and nonsense, has almost no coherent qualities whatsoever. no negative score, but it still sucked. i will give you 1 point for sympathy.

end score - samurairisms, 20. istayongrind, -2.

damn. asskicking like i've never seen.

peace be with you all

haha i know...that's why i wrote this extended and rediculous exposition.

thanks for taking it with good humor, because i really can't help myself sometimes. my sense of humor is wild, untame and irresponsible... be easy, good luck with your mpc.
