Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By djames Wed Sep 24, 2003 1:17 am
Yo, I recently ordered a MPC 2000 XL from Ebay. Everything was gravy until after I sent the Jack and the cat stopped replying to my e-mails. It has been 11 days now and still no MPC, I mean how long could shipping really take. The deal was to sweet to pass on, but all that glitters ain't gold I guess. Akai MPC 2000 XL, 32 MB, built in zip, 8 outputs, box and receipt for $650. I could kick my own a$$. I feel like the biggest a__hole in the world cuz. This cat's handle is acuraman4u2 on Ebay,he's out of New Jersey. His email is [email protected] please beware do not f@#k with this cat. If I ever see him I'm gonna get my loot and my MPC...that's my WORD!
(had to vent a little, Peace)

woah, you should of used an escrow service.....that a no no to pay for something over 100.00 without a escrow service holding the money till the item is delivered. Good luck.

Hey did you meet the reserve price??? If you didn't forget it unless you an him decided to do it anyway.... other than that I hope you didn't get funked man..

I had a simular situation happend to me ... I payed $1400 for a roland vs1880 2fx cards.... It seemed like it would never come and i lost contact with the seller the way you did... it took a whole month for me to get my shi*. Really I had almost charged it to the game (and I am a broke ass nigg*. Usually when thing come from Cali to the east coast or vice verse it take a couple of days longer, but that was rediculous. So I hope your situation is the same.

best of luck!!! This is my first time hearing of escrow ( I should have been doing that all the time)

Yeah I knew about the Escrow Accounts, but I had trust in PayPal plus I got so excited to get a loaded MP for that price. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I'm keeping the faith!

I bought some videos and they never came but I got the Paypal insurance thing checked off in the little order box and I recieved my money back plus it was coming to my confimed address. As long as you did those things then you'll be alright but it did take a minute to get my loot back but at least I got it back...if you didn't check those make you sure you check that feature out, member Paypal isn't the enemy it's the seller but good luck to you

I'm not blaming PayPal they are definitely not the enemy, as a matter of fact they are currently launching an investigation. They said that there is no guarantee they will get the item or the money back, but there is a good chance they will. The Seller is THE ENEMY!

if you used a credit card with paypal you should be insured.....if you used a debit card (ie switch or US Equiv) your not.....think the same is true for bank transfers....

hey i got took for $500 off ebay this cat sold me a korg trition studio
for $1100 and i was supposed to send him the frist half when i got conformation of shipping by a tracking number. Well i got that but i never got my trition, weeks went by and the guy stop emailing me with excuses and stop responding to my emails.I was so heated i could kill the bastard
if i ever seen him and i'm still very upset about it and it happened almost a year ago. money is hard to come for me and just being a victim of crime is a slap in the face. but anyway i get mad just talking about it again so i''l get to the point. when buying off ebay look at the sellers feed back, and total number of sells . i don't buy from anybody with less than 200 sells. and use paypal or some kinda escrow service. so good luck man i hope you get your mpc . oh yea if anyone sees this guy nawal gamaci don't **** with him he is lower than rat shit and he needs to be exterminated !

never heard of him, but if you can only deal with ESCROW or paypal for users with REALLY good feedback, like power sellers, stores, etc. The Luigi guy I was talking about has about (7) different names and uses 4 different email addresses. They all point to his dumb arse in LONDON, how else can you wire money. Lastly, wiring money should only be used for PERSONAL situations, anybody can make up an ID and request the money!

Do you have his address or anything? If you know his address you could get the police involved.. I did that when I almost got ripped for $650.00. Luckily I was able to get it back. Usually eBay users have to give their CC # to sign up so hopefully you'll get your $$ back.

I got my MPC 2000 & Zip Drive off E-BAY for $825....It took madd long to get to my crib....Almost 2 & a half weeks....I figure it would take a while since I sent out the money in check (I dont have Pay Pal).....But the way I sent out my check was.......You'll have to sign a receipt that you recive the check....So there is proof that he got the check.....After 1 week....I kept E-mailing him a few times sayin when did you send it...He would give me answers....But it was real vexed sometimes. And the last 2 e-mails he didnt respone...Anyways....After like almost 2 weeks.....My MPC still didnt come in,......Man, I was so **** pissed out.....I had that **** address and stuff.....I was about to go to .S.C. to hunt this **** down....And I live in FL.....Not really that far....like a 9 Hr trip....But Then, I got a card from the post-office in my mail sayin my package is there to be pick up.....Man, that was a crazy 2 weeks for me.....I still got my package......But I'll tell you guys one thing....Im never buyin anything off e-bay that cost that much ever again....

my problem is with fools who bid on your sh1t but won't pay up when the time comes...I mean how hard is it to get paypal?....or idiots that ask you like a grip of questions yet they dont even have the courtesy to bid on your item......I was selling a refurbished mpc 60II and I got like 27 emails from folks but only 9 bids.....no reserve and eveything starting out at $400....and then to make it worse, the fag who won didnt even pay up when it wass due...and this dude asked me like a good 5 or 6 stupid questions.....I understand having questions and all but b1tch please-all the info you need is either on the auction page, or on the web.....

Not hard to get paypal... but very hard to keep your account from being limitted if you use 3 different computers (let them tell it). I have had so many problems with them... and I use to do a lot of business with them... I want to sell my cd online through them, but my account is limitted now for the umpteen time may I add.... so Funk them. When I finish with my CD I will holla at them.
