How are you proud of owning an XL?

Greatings! And you already on the forum, read the manual and collect samplz!

I am a very happy mpc2000xl user, I can't say I love it ... Love is something I reserve for my Friends and Family. I did my research b4 I bought one, it has given me the same feeling I got back in the days when dicking around with my roland W-30.

Personally, it's about functionality, looks and a little bit of romance.
I made a good move back in the '90s and bought an MC303 brand new when they first came out, I thought it was cool - it made me happy.
Then I switched to computers in 1999, and worked with them for about four years, and realized that I was trying to make the computer do things that hardware was built for. Plus, I found myself pulling my MC303 out of the clothset and plugging it in again to try to have fun.
This whole time I've always wanted an MPC2000XL, and I can't tell you the reasons why I didn't buy one back then. The 2000XL is the only one for me, it's a good comprimise between smaller size, but heavy duty, and FEATURES! The more features the better.
I had a hard time deciding whether or not to get the MC-909 or the MPC first. I like both. What can I say. They are certain things I like about every machine. I also like the Electron Machine Drum.
Over all though there's something about the 2000XL that says "YOU must have this". I think another major reason why the MPC is genius is because there are no sounds in it. It's all you, baby!

ive had my 2000xl for about 6 years now and im proud as hell still to this day about having it..i even gotz a mini-moog voyager (if you dont know what this is its a must know about item for musicians and producers alike, check moogmusic.com) but im still more proud of the mpc...the mpcxl will most likely always be the center of my studio.yall already know alot of the technical differences between the different machines..so i just thought id throw my two cents in ...check out the mini-moog voyager if you dont know wut it is...that shit will make you get all wet inside even though im my mpc makes me prouder...peacee kidds

i've thought about downgrading to a 3000 too but i couldnt live without timestretch i just wish my XL had more filters.. plus i wish i had the FX and 8 outs.

Oracle, you might get the 8 outs before the FX card. If you need multitracking, you might get dem and somethin tht peeps don't say it's that the outputs play louder den the stereo outs, like when you edit a sound in Trim screen...
Despite what peep say, the FX is good, once you know what you waan & work around it... I like the multi FX & the Rev is helpfull on some short chop samples, and it makes the XL look more like a workstation...

Yo, javib, analog is ill . I never try the Mini Voyageur, the only true analog synth i own is the Roland MKS-80, also the Supernova but it's VA...
I would like to buy one, Imma waiting for a good second hand price! For the basses babe the basses !!!

yo kilowax, just to let you know miracles do happen, i practically stole the minimoog..i was at guitar center down here in miami for a few hours trying to get a good price on it down from 4000..and by the end of the day coming in and out of the store the dude goes, ok ill give you the last one well ever have in the store off the wall right now for $1069 and i was like, gank..walking out with that shit in my hands like i had just robbed the place..its a beautiful story...so i guess the moral be..make friends with your local music dealer than bother the **** out of him...

to me the XL is the perfect marraige of form and function...there's nothing that I need to do(as far as making beats) that it can't do...it's easy to use, and for around a G I got mines new (about 4-5 years ago)...single best purchase I've ever made


some people prefer cpu producing, but that doesn't feel as natural to me as being able to tap out the beats...I'm that dude that beats on shit, from the desk, to the lunchroom table, to the garbage cans (the big plastic ones that had the dope ass bass if you hit 'em right) to windows to whatever...ADD has had it's benefits for me, and the MP allows you to freak what's in your mind

I've never used the 3K or the 60, but I can't see me going back on what I've got...no need to
