hey guys, quick question...

i see that you can resample with the mpc1000....what exactly does this mean? i use cool edit pro to edit samples, and the "resample" feature changes the speed of the sample, while also changing the pitch. so, i realize the mpc1000 doesnt have Timestretch, but can it still "resample" in the sense that you can speed up or slow down the sample (ie. the chipmunk kind of effect)??

thanks for clearing that up...

to resample means to resample or sample what ever changes u have made, for example u might want a to add reverb to to a sample and not have to use the effects on it when u could use the effect for suttin else.

anyway basically go to record mode, and select 'main out' and the obvious sample length, start record and press the pad where ya sample is.

and it will record it internally for u.

I mostly used this to record near finished music and load up on pc to have a burn on cd to play in the car etc.

ahhhh i gotchya, thanks a lot man.

and so i'm assuming that means there's no way to adjust the speed of a sample on the mpc1k?

thanks,

I HATE PEOPLE WHO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT SOMETHING THEY DONT EVEN HAVE YET!!

"ooh how do u do this? and does it do that??!!"

No disrespect mate, but if u really check your self, how dumb do u think u sound? Anyway its better to be more specific in your questions like
    Does the MPC1000 allow resampling?
How much memory can it handle
Etc, I'm thinking of getting one and would like to know its key features.
Most people will tell you to search the forum for your answers cause its all there, there aint nuttin we aint heard yet! TRUST ME!!

So i leave this last thought with you...Figure out what you need to make music, and under what type of environments, do u like software or hardware based options? do u like the hands on approach? or do u want a mpc cause most so called hip hop producers use one?

Do u like sampling? or using synths? know your strengths and skills and apply them to what would work best for you, that way you will not end up wasting your time, especially those based on assumptions

Good Day....and a Pre Welcome to the MPC1000 Mile High Club if u ever decide to purchase one.[/list]

wow man, settle down.

i've used software until this point. but now i'm interested in giving hardware a try. i've been researching the MPC for a few weeks now, and I was still confused about resampling. i searched this forum AND futureproducers, and didn't get an answer that i needed. so i figured i'd ask. and i think my question wasn't quite as vague as you made it out to be...

you say you hate when people ask questions about gear they don't own yet....well, sorry but i cant afford to spend $1000 now and ask questions later. just trying to make sure this equipment will suit all my needs BEFORE i go spending all that money.

so maybe you're having a bad day and needed to vent....no problem. and by the way, thanks for you help....i've decided to purchase one, and i'm pretty excited. i'm sure i'll be back eventually with a question or two.
