is there a way to change the note

lets say I lay a kick using my motif rack. But I decide to change that kick into one of my mp kicks. Do I have to go into step record to do this(i know how to do that)or is there a easier way to do this.

Just load the other kick and replace it.

To elaborate on the advice above. You can do this by going to the Program screen and re-assigning the kick in the mpc to the pad that has the motif kick on it.
