motif+mpc via MIDI

OK first off I'm pissed at myself because there are so many of these threads and I've used the search function. It's been 2 hours and I still can't get this right.

What I want to do (just like what everyone else wanted) Is to have my drums playing out on the MPC and I use my Motif to play out a melody. Heres my connection and settings:

Midi out going into the midi in of the mpc
MPC settings are: Type: Midi, program off, channel 1A.
The motif is set to channel 1.

No noise, wtf.

I guess this could only really be answered by people who use the Motif.

Does anyone here use the Motif???

this sucks i totally give up now. I spent 2 hours messing around and still could not get it and I guess no one here really uses the MPC1000 with a Motif so no one could help.

lol,your not hearing any of the motifs sounds because your only recording or playing midi notes that dont contain any sound you need to hook up the audio outs of your motif to a mixer or mabey your soundcard to hear the sound.
