usb transfer question

Sampled from vinyl straight into mpc no more than 4 minutes worth of samples, saved to cf card, hooked up pc via usb and transfered from 1k(cf card) to pc, my question being; is it normal for this transfer to take several minutes, i didn't think i was transfering much data, how are other people's times when it comes to this?

it might depend on your pc. How many megabytes total were all 4 min. jus wonderin?

the 1K card reader is pretty slow. i didn't even know it but my comp has a cf card reader by the usb slots on the front and it moves way faster.

what program are you sending it to. Next will it open because i'm having the same prob. holla back

see if can remember all the questions,

1. not sure how many megabytes, don't have my computer w/ me right now, but it was just some open drums, guitar solo, and some other junk. but my pc is real quick so im sure it's not that

2. but i noticed that when i loaded samples and programs from pc to mpc via usb it was a lot quicker, but clean samples are most likely much smaller files than straight samples w/ all the static and extra instrumentation

3. what program? i just transfered the samples from mpc to a folder on my pc via usb

cause i cann open sample files on my pc but not seq and song files. as far as the time I use a program call progam creator and it sends files fast to the mpc. Go to MPC1000.com and try it.

the mpc is usb 1 or 1.1......2.0 is about 40 times faster, thats why im buying a card reader.....
