i just bought a 60 and im waiting for it...im wondering if anybody got the mpc60/asr10 setup and how u got things setup... whether your using the 6 outs from theoutput expander of the asr or the 8 outs of the 60... and if you got those outs going to a mixer or just straight to a soundcard.. let me know..peace

Outs from both into the mixer. Sequencing on the 60. Samplin on both. Playin on both. Have fun the combo is a joy...........

yup, been using the eps 16/60 combo for a couple weeks, amazing. the ASR isn't so much different from the eps16 so I can tell you you're gonna have a lot of fun with the combo.

as smoke crack said, I sample drums on the 60, other samples on the eps and use the 60 to sequence. I had to get used to saving on both machines, it was awkward at first, but it just takes some getting used to.

as for the outs, I guess it depends how you are tracking, my soundcard only has 1 stereo input so I don't use the expander much to track things

so is it a good idea to use the regular main outs of the asr10 for the samples so i can use the asr efx..cuz i usually dont use more than 2 outs when im tracking out my samples and im sick of not being able to use the efx with the output expander... then ill use the 60's outs for drums and what not

Nah premo changed his setup somewhere in the late 90's.....the S950 took to the rear side rack in Studio B. He also rocks the akai- remix unit (hard disk recorder?), MPC-60 and the ASR-10 keyboard.....didn't yall notice the aural difference in his basslines? His early 90's albums- Daily Operation, Hard to Earn had those ill S950 filtered basslines and everything that dropped around 1995 and later ended up having those thick chopped basslines.....minus the filter. ASR-10 thickness.....I've got the photo to prove it......unless i'm mistaken.....I did notice a drastic change in his overall sound!

Nowhere within arms reach.....unlike my setup which allows me full access to the 950's button panel......unless there is a remote available which i'm not aware of....damn that'd be the shit.....if there was a remote.
