are you tripping? granted muggs and j5 made some fat beats, shadows stuff is all thin-sounding nonsense (his beats are over-mpc-afied if you know what i mean, all clever-clever noodlings like a pointless guitar solo) and dirtstyle/MMM beats are 99% distorted rehashes that could have been thrown together on a casio keyboard in 30 seconds.

I agree with alot of what yall are saying. Some of these producers are without a doubt the best. I just believe Buck 65 deserves some drum credit. Man obviously spends time on his drums. Who else has got an entire song dedicated to the art of finding drum sounds? driftwood-off vertex, one of the illest breaks ever. I second buck 65 for the drums. my opinion, he smokes anyone mentioned here for dope ass drum hits. You might not like the whole wierdo white rapper thing and thats cool, but his drums are what im talkin about. and his shit is mad raw. Then again to me, it's more the sound of the drum and how it fits the track, then how hard they hit. though it definetly gotta bump cause its hiphop. If it hit's hard but sounds like shit, its weak. for the drum programming though it goes to sixtoo and jel. peace

Boogie Man - no doubt! Seems like everyone who ever read half an interview about Dre jumps to the same half-assed conclusion, probably because they can't just can't comprehend how many classic joints this guy has made. And yeah when I say "made" I don't care if you tell me that Mike blah-di-blah played the actual notes etc etc, save all that garbage - if you can't tell the signature Dre sound and trace it back to ****** (when he really went to the next level IMO) then you need to clean your ears out and learn your history.

Dre has always had the knocking beats, from 808 electro classics to the sp12 CIA stuff to the cinematic NWA masterpieces and beyond. And he's still not done. I can tell a Dre production a mile off, any hip hop DJ who's ever played in a club will tell you of the love they have for Dre's productions, they make most other tracks sound like muddy trash.

Of course if your bag is unfunky backpacker zombie "art" beats then of course you're gonna hate on Dre, I mean who wants to dance with hot girls to Family Affair when you could be at home slitting your wrists to Anticon?
