Hello. Anyone with an mpc60, how do you add
things like reverb etc to your samples??
Does anyone use a compressor for their drums etc?
If so, HOW? An does anyone think that one day, you will
be able to store your samples from the 60, on to USB??

 no man thats not gonna happen

you ahve an insert/ return on the back of the 60, you can route a mixer with fx or a computer running vsts. you can resample your sound through those tools

i was thinking of analog equipment.

yeah yeah. thats where the mixer comes in. most mixers have 4 or more fx inputs. So if you go from the 60 in the mixer, back into the 60, you can use the fx inputs. compressor, verb, you name it ;)

Its going to be a bit expensive tho.... cause youll need a good mixer with good converters and good headroom and those things dont come for free.

Or you can chain different fx without a mixer.. But then you need to swop cables like a mad man if you´re using the fx on other equipment too

wich stuff do you have right now? If you have 1 fx unit (or a synth with audio in) and some audio cables, you can already start!

Ok, let me remind everyone that this is the 60/ 3000 forum, a place where we really try to figure stuff out for ourselves, then when we have tried for days and can't get it, we might come here and ask a question, but we try to keep this place a bit different than the other forums on this board, where we can really dig into the sound of things, of different techniques, with little "show me how I do this" kind of things.

People dumber than you have figured this stuff out without anyone telling them, you need to have a bit more get up and go when you have your equipment in front of you. If someone walks you through what you have to do you will understand less about it than if you figure it out and actually work it out. Now sometimes we need guidance, but this isn't the Blue Oyster bar, cats ain't trying to hold your hand in here.

So as easy as it may seem to just ask and get the answer, you will wear out the people who help if you lean on them with all your weight, and then you'll only have yourself anyway, so use what you got, exhaust it, before you come asking for all on a platter, cuz if you don't bring your brain, it still won't make any sense to you, even if we explain it, you gotta read your manuals, and if you don't understand, read them again, no one here can make you understand something if you can't make the effort to get it yourself.

I didn't realize this forum was used just to talk about how great the MPC 60 or the 3000 is. I acutally thought that one could post a question, like most boards/forums, and get and answer. What get's me is how snotty some of you cats are about it. My question was a simple one, and the answer wasn't in the MPC manual, so I decided to ask. In the time it took you to write that b.s. response, you could have just moved on past this post. I guess no one remembers what it was like when they first started out, so I won't post to this forum anymore. I'll let you guys sit around and talk about who has the phattest drum sounds in the industry.

I do remember what it was like, and I know how I got here, and I want to help cats get here too, but you gotta use your noodle. When we get flooded with questions that you could figure out on your own if you tried or a bit of reading would clear up for you, we end up with a bunch of people who are afraid to make a move unless they post and ask everyone to repeat what has been said a million times.

Saying "I got this and this, how do I set it up?" basically says that you need to get to know your equipment, why should we tell you about it when you have it right there in front of you? Try different things, there are many ways of hooking stuff up, you may find a better one if you fuucking try.

And, you hijacked a thread, one by someone who also needs to read a lot more, but you want someone to research your gear and type how to set it up in words you can understand, yeah, everyone wants a custom manual. What's in it for anyone else? Nothing! Discussing drum sounds or whatever everyone can benefit, but from showing you how to hook up your shyt? When you can figure it out for yourself? Like I said, dumber people than you have done it, you too lazy to **** get cracking on your gear and learn it? No one can explain it and make it all make sense, it takes time, and you gotta learn what you're dealing with, so put in the time and stop being a lazy assed fuuck. if you do it but encounter some problem you can't figure out, then it might be a good time to post the specific problem, but just saying it like that is like, "OK, plug both units in, hook them up to your speakers so you can hear it..." etc. Someone can't give you what you need because you dont say what you need, you just want it all, and that's a waste.

We try to keep this place focused, that's why we created the newbie forum, but everyonce in a while some newbies venture out and take advantage of people's kindness and then the welcome wears thin. I won't tolerate it, I'll call cats out, if you don't want to hear RTFM then get to the newbie forum.

The answer to your question is in the manual of both your machines, and it is not a simple question, you want to hook up both pieces, well you need to understand how the connections of the 60 and the digi work, otherwise you're a lost cause.

Wake up ya fuk.

It's cool dog, no need to trip all over yourself on this one. I understand what your point is, but I've seen plenty of DUMB ass posts in this forum that get answered in detail. Trust me pimpin, I know my gear, I took the time to read ALL of my manuals BEFORE I hooked my shyt up. I only ask here, when I can't find the answer anywhere else. So again, before you write 3 or 4 paragraphs tryin to clown people, just don't answer, as I don't recall asking you specifically for anything. Pull the stick outta ya ass man!

Right on Ikke. BTW, I should have explained my question a little better. There were two ways for me to accomplish what I was trying to do. Basically, should I plug my 3000 directly into the compressor OR set the compressor up on it's on track in ProTools, and bus the output of the MPC to that track. I decided to go with the MPC-> outboard compressor -> Digi002. Record the compressed drums in ProTools, chop em up in Recycle, then load them back into the MP.
