On what some of you music professionals think about the Mbox, is there a much better alternative for the money?

The mbox is great if you a entry level, and portable way to get into pro tools. After knowing all that I know now I probaly wouldn't get it, but not to say its bad, but that there are some better choices out that would probaly suit me better.

Finally someone has come foward. When I got my MP I was looking into to, but I got my MP but when I did my research I seen that is was a scam if you were a hardware artist. I know people who use a MP, triton and other gear with a mbox. I don't know how they do it. It takes them forever to track a beat. But on the other hand if you are using a program like Reason and want to rewire into protools to record vocals then the mbox is a good buy. But in the hardware world your best bet is one of the other DAW's(sonar/DP/logic/cubase) or buy a hardware recorder.
