The thing you saw was a midi interface for computer that connects to a usb port. When you say you want to change your beats, what exactly do you want to change?
I just need to get my beats in my computer (it's got USB) so my boy can record his rhymes over them. And from there, I'd like to put the track into MP3 or something. I could save my beats as .wav, but that would take too much storageroom...
The problem is I just don't get a lot of things concerning computers and stuff..

If you have an mpc1000 resample your song as a wav and transfer that wav to your computer for further processing. If you run the 2K(xl) then you will have to record the output(s) of the MPC via a soundcard in your comp. So the USB-MIDI interface is completely useless for the things you need to do.

This has 8 ins and outs, which is not really necessary if you don't have 8 ins on your soundcard. You can probably just get a soundcard that gives you more ins at a cheaper price. You can get a card that lets' you go from your mixer or mpc straight into your computer.

So...How would be the best way then to put beats (MPC2KXL) onto my Pc with USB?

It's not possible usin' the usb.The 1000 has that feature. So to use the xl into the cpu you need to use the out from the mpc.Or if you go from mpc to mixer use the mixer outs to your soundcard in.
