MIDI Sample Dump on MPC 60

Hi,

Anybody know how to tranfer multiple samples and programs over midi on the MPC 60, i can tranfer single samples using recycle and sonic foundry but i have some old samples and drum kits on my PC i need to get back into the MPC to save onto floppy

i have used MPC Editor but my MPC don't like the floppies i put in i get the deadly 06h message.Any Ideas ??

Laods any body got any spare parts i need a hit hat fader knob and the bracket which holds the floppy drive ...

recycle doesnt send snd to the mpc or other way around..
anyway, you need Awave Studio to sample dump via midi

Recycle can send and receive sample data , i've done it !
it can only send it one at a time and so does sonic foundry you just have to use the "Generic SDS" or "Generic SMDI" settings when selecting a sampler, but i will only send one at a time i just need something to send multiple samples rather than having to send things one at a time, i think the restriction is that you have to assign a sample number to send or recieve from.

just wondered if mutiple sending was possible.
I'm trying audiostudio and it looks like what i have been after

i have awavestudio now and it's great.
I still can't transfer all the samples and progams all at once because of the MPC needs to assign the sample number for each sample but this isn't a problem, great to get some old kits back into the MPC

Well, the MPC editor will only work with 60 OS 3.xx, it doesn't work with 2.xx Os's.

And if you have OS 3.10, midi sample dump is no longer supported.

So it sounds like you have a 2.xx OS, that's why the Editor didn't work, and that's why you can sample dump.

SDS is one at a time I think, if you want MUCH FASTER transfers, get the 3.10 OS and rock the editor. If you have SCSI then export whole programs to zip and it doesn't get any faster.

exactly as i thought, the OS prblem.

I tend not to do many tranfers i just needed some old kits transfered, its a bit slow but whilst i can't afford the SCSI add ons it's just gonna have to do.if i do transfer it's loops, i do for loops where the the tempo or time signiture is a real pain to get right so i stick it in recyle or sound forge to edit or read the tempo then stick back to the MPC.

you're right SDS is only one at a time the MPC recieves all the samples but assigns them all onto on one sample number, when its all finished you press the pad that the samples assigened ot and it makes a short buzzing sound then you get the last sample you transered ! wierd !

Its just a shame as MPC Editor is great i think i need to save for OS 3.10.

Call up Route 66, they had some 3.10 upgrades left for 120, what's that? like 3 pounds sterling now? cop the OS and do the editor with floppies, I did that for years and loved it.
