aight if i want to record from the tv into the mpc 1000 waht is that cable called so i can buy one?

it needs to be regular red/white rca for tv end but then those rca's need to be bigger for the mpc end....

whats the best place to get it and pricewise wud am i lookin at?

also IS that cable the same exact bacle i could use to hook up the mpc to my reciever? aka so i hear the sounds out of my speakers?

if it isn't what do i need for that?

if it is wouldn't i need two cables? one for the sample source into the mpc and the ova from the mpc into the reciever?

i have a turntalbe wit red/white rca's, the actual plug's tho NOT the inputs? noow how can i use the mpc1000k to sample since it has plugs not inputs?

help a young nia STARTIN out!!!

you need rca to 1/4" stereo plugs. maybe $10 or $15 at the most. rca from tv to 1/4" inputs on mpc or yes, 1/4" stereo outs from mpc to rca in on you mixer or reciever.

Itd be SOO much cheaper just to use a RCA cable laying aorudn your house and get 2 RCA- 1/4" adapters.. they cost about $3 for a pair at radio shack, and they are good to have around.. I have about 8 pairs. I also have the RCA - 1/4 CABLES but I use the adapters more.

wud bout sound quality does it compremise any of it? also the same one's can be used to sample into the mpc as the sames one that can be used to connect the mpc to a reciever to bump on my home speakers?

sound quality would be less, yes. but if you're sampling from the tv i wouldn't worry much about sound quality anyway.

however it would be good to have some nice spdif cables around for when you track your ish out anyway

go to guitar center and get the propper cables you need (rca to 1/4") i got them to throw in 3 of um for free when i bought my mpc1k from them. Stay away from those adapters. Its not as much the sound quality as it is the build quality. Ive had so many of them fall apart at live shows. You can put them back together but the contact is weak and unstable. Also if you have a digital cable box or want to sample from a dvd, they have digital out and you should definately use a digital coax cable in that circumstance.

for the turntable.. you will need to connect to a phono preamp first.

most readily, you may have a dj mixing board, or maybe your reciever has a phono input and a tape output....for peolple who wanted to make tapes of their albums.... just hook the mpc up instead of a tape deck (using the rca-1/4 cables you were asking about)

if you have no phono inputs or a dj mixing board, i'd buy a cheap DJ mixer $30-50.. or you can buy a phono preamp fpr 20-30, ive obly seen a couple, I know "pyle pro" makes one for about $25 seems to be built well.

phono is such a weak signal that if you don't preamp it first the mpc won't be able to record at a good level, and if you normalize a weak sample you get a ton of noise .
