need help getting MPC 2000XL to work with Reason

all I wan't to do is use the pads on my MPC to trigger samples in Reason but it's not working for me...

I have done the following;

1. connected MIDI OUT 1 on MPC to MIDI IN 1 on mu MIDI Interface (Midi Hubble http://www.zzounds.com/item--TERMIDIHUBBLE). My MIDI interface then connects to my MAC via USB

2. In Reason PREFERENCES, for PORT: I have selected "MIDI HUBBLE"

any suggestions on what else I need to do?? Reason doesn't seem to be receiving any MIDI signals from my MPC :s

You have the MIDI connections setup right, so the rest is easy:

1. On the MPC, hit Shift + 9 to get to the MIDI sync screen.

2. On the left side of that screen, select MIDI Beat Clock, and set the SYNC in port to be 1, which is MIDI IN port A

3. on the right side of that screen, set the SYNC out to AB, which is MIDI OUT ports A and B

4. Select MIDI Beat Clock for the sync

5. Start a new sequence on the MPC.

6. On track 1, select MIDI and change the channel to 1A, which is MIDI OUT port A, which should be connected to your MIDI interface

Make sure you have a Reason device, ie. NN-XT1, on MIDI bank 1 on the Reason MIDI hub above the Reason mixer. Start hittin the pads on the MPC and it should trigger the sounds from the Reason device on MIDI channel 1A. One last thing, on the Reason sequencer, make sure the click the MIDI Sync button, so it will slave to the MPC's sequencer. Let me know if you have more questions.

On the MPC, no I don't think you can save the setting, although I could be wrong. I believe that when you power cycle the 2kXL, you may have to modify the MIDI SYNC settings again. Try it and see. I'm glad to hear that everything worked out well, as I had somewhat of the same problem a while back.
