Hi does anyone know if there are any plans to release a new mpc2000xl special edition or mpc1000 special edition in different colours?
i think the new blue colour looks crap, much prefer the older grey look.
what do the rest of you guys think?
i think the blue colour makes it look like a fisher price toy propping up your studio than a serious mpc workstation. i know it's only cosmetics and all but would MUCH prefer if the old grey units were still available :(

LMAO I know what you mean unk. I was thinking the same thing when I first seen the Smurf blue MPC line. I don't think they (Numark) will be producing the old grey MPC's anymore. Numark loves that color blue for some reason.

If you call around you might find theres' a distro/supplier in your area that has one of the older beige XLs in stock. ...Maybe. That's what I did, but the market for mpcs isn't as big in AUS (obviously).
Or if you go with a 1000, you could look into giving it a custom paint job.

This is what one dude did. It's not a perfect job (eg. air bubbles) but you get the idea.

Peace

What the heck? Why should it matter how it looks? I couldnt care less for what colour my MPC is... My MPC could be pink with a huge picture of a zit on it, as long as it sported the MPC features.

Each to their own. I know I'd rather a 1000 in the old beige colour.

well my search was unsuccessful for a new grey unit so i went all out and bought the new blue mpc 2000xl, sure they both do the same job in the end of the day.
waiting on delivery now should be with me next week.
look forward to using an mpc again :)
