does anyone here actually use the q-sliders?
or understand why akai felt the need to put two of them on the 1000??

no one i know (whether they own a 1000/2000/xl whatever) has told me they use the q-sliders. and the 1000 has two of them?? and you can only use one at a time???

if you could alter velocity then atleast you could fade in/fade out stuff and try and emulate a delay effect. but of course velocity isn't a parameter that you can assign with the q-slider, i guess cause then that would actually make the q-slider somewhat useful.

i don't know.
just trying to see if anyone's come across any useful ways to use the q-slider...

Yo the sliders are tight i will make take sound like a scratch and pitch shift it through the track to make a tight effect or i will have like a sound made in to a constant like a bassline and as the beat progresses i will make the grumbling bass go throug changes by changing the filter its tight work with it and be creative

i use those all the time. i like to pitch the snars a bit during my beat. or filter a sound. breath some life into the beat a bit.

q-sliders are great. i use them all the time.

you know you can apply both attack and decay to you sliders. the filter params are fun too. lego hit it dead on about filtering the bass, sometimes i will take my main groove 3 or 4 tracks and resample it, then i will delete some of the tracks i started with and replace them with my new sample, then apply filtering effects trhu the q-slider. and if you have a repeating single shot you can set the slider to tune and use the slider like an arpeggiator. play around with them, they actually have alot to offer and i'm sure there is much more i haven't figured out yet.

i use them. usually i assign pitch to it, and then rock them on hats or percussion, but any parameter is fun to mess with, filters too. and i do hiphop btw, so dont think its only for dance music.

who said it would only be for dance music? why would that be the case anyway?

ive had other hiphop heads try to say that to me before. i assume that those types are under the impression fluctuating filters and heavily effected sound modulation are to be left to dance music.

they're crazy. that sh*ts beautiful in a hip-hop beat.

yeah i agree, i used a mutronics mutator on a gutter beat before, that shit was hot. and im talking knob freaking, getting some crazy modulation effects going like in house music. id love to get a sherman filter bank, but i the mfc42 is more in my price range right now.

I use the Q-Sliders, but not much.. I use em to adjust Attack, Decay and sometimes pitch. Never use two of them at once tho.

i liken the q link siders to mohammed, jesus and other prophets.

they claim to lead to salvation, but in truth it only works if you implement them in the right way.

the q link sliders are most useful in live concerts to **** with people's heads, i think, especially with note repeat and vocal samples.

if you open up the q link slider page and play drums while at the same time tweaking the slider, you can really go wild with a live drum pitch sound. it's pretty intense, give it a shot.
