god dam 3/4 time sample.

I was just messing with this tom scott record and the sample was in 3/4 time, so I was like coo need to change it up every now and then, but after I got it looped I just couldn't get anything. So I gave up chopped it and went back to good ole 4/4/ time. I'm limited

what are you trying to make ,what type music, i think that depends.

I was making a hip hop track. But you know I try to change things up a little don't want all my beats to sound the same. When I head brooklands finest with Jay-z and biggie. I don't know what signature that is in. But i know its kind of differnt with the arrangement. I want to make someting that sounds differnt. But only waltz and stuff are generally in 3/4 time.

a long time. Like what alternatives there are beisdes 4/4. I mean 3/4 is waltz, 2/4 is some rock crap, 6/8 is blues. I mean there's nothing. And out times, 5,7,9ths never seem finished and dont groove. I know the gypsies and the flamenco players put some crazy times in there and it works, but apparently you have to be a gypsy to get it. 4/4 sucks but its the best we got.

at 4/4 you can make a beat in almost any other time signature given enough bars.

down into little fractions doesn't mean that its really not 4/4. And besides thats more like accenting. I just get frusterated that 4/4 seems to be the only timing I like even though I am bored by it. Every other timing seems to be directly tied to a genre. And I dont want to make imitations of other genres.

brooklyn's finest is 4/4 it is just 6 bars instead of 2,4,or 8

man if you listen to other genres, especially the experimental stuff within those genres, you can see how well they manipulate uncommon time signatures to give them a dope "balanced" rhythm. listen to radiohead.. they've made plenty of songs in weird time signatures including ones with odd numbers and they've made songs with changing time sigs.

i've made a few 3/4 beats myself, one was double time 3/4 beat and after my friend listened to it for about a year he finally rapped over it and it sounded really tight. i've also made 9 bar beats, sort've like the way Hovi Baby is.. didn't Just Blaze make that beat? i'm pretty sure that had a 5 bar thing going on.

djchronobeats is also right. chop! i've made plenty of 3/4 samples into 4/4 beats.
