Can I send a shout to my man Avalon pre and U87 mic one time.

I'd also like to send a super special shout to "insert latest drum machine/keyboard sampler here", and can't forget his man "insert the latest marketing hype from said synth developer here".

Last but not least is my ***** big M, aka, Big 32/8, aka Mackie.

Keep a look for the LP in stores July 4th, Girls Gone Digi ft. Digi 002 and DJ Logic.

Ohhhh thats right, we're suppose to be responding to why everyone sounds the same.........

Commerical record and commerical mixing with the silmilar sounds from MPC sounds are whatever. It`s hot and whatcha little bro watches on tv, or his boys got on then he`s going to do it too. It`s the herd mentality with the Gunits, Sean Pauls and others backed by the majors aka big money aka big business. Can you smell the cheese in the air. Maybe we should invest in Hanes or some shit and get some of that cheese back. Maybe we should do another FUBU aka GUYS git your sh*t together brand too. Cuz the youth aint gonna listen unless you got something better to offer. :D

You ever see them pills comercials? Like the Adult ADD ones, or anyof them really, they sucker you in talkin like this pill is gonna make you be on time, have a bigger johnson, feel in the mood, get rid of your allergies, they talk about it like it's a miricle and there is no other option.

The deal with music is they limit what can be heard, so certain artists are winners of a fixed race (*Ahem*Jay-Z*ahem*) by shelving other artists and having the radio on lock so local shyt cant get on if the DJ feels it. They got it so even clubs only play top 40 shyt because thats what's easy to spin and to please. Underground was never as far away from mainstream as it is now, a track could be on the radio, or in clubs if it was hot, now it is much harder because there is a sort of classism going on where if it isn't on a major DJ's don't know about it or don't want to. At least here in NY it's like that.

So true adding on most of the buying public and the dance club crowd aren`t trying to hear anything else cuz if the honeys aren`t bouncing to it the dudes ain`t going to get a lil bit tonite either. Clubs the ladies rule that sounds that got the bump in the joint. The dj runs with most of the popular request that are on the radio or a danceable classic, and once the fellas got their drink on profiling, perpetrating like they are hustlers, players, and whatever some young chickheads fanstany rapper, singer, or star that they saw on tv or a video. The big money knows this an gather the popular artists and portarys this on tv. A djs will clear the floor when he or she tries to introduce something really worth listening too cuz alot people and aint trying hear that in no club. It is no use trying to change people just find an avenue to influence them to be open. It like a preacher going to a gin joint to convert alocholitcs!!!! But if a local station or a made for DVD event could jump off that`s another option with local mc nite at the Apollo or something as long as the shit is real with no fake as controls. Shit I don`t know King of NYC at the local hot spot. But preaching to kids about their dress, style, hair or whatever sounds just like our parents when most of us were doing the same sh*t> :and you know we didn`t listen shttttttttt?:

P.S. I mispell alot of shit cuz I just came back from the club and I got my lil bit he he.

It comes down to SUPPORT!!!! Underground artist, producers, etc... DO NOT SUPPORT the cause. (Because EVERYONE is an artist) And no one wants to buy the album when they can DUB it, and thats the killer of underground hiphop. It's not a matter of "the radio would play my sh!t!" Fu@k the radio, hiphop was underground when A Tribe Called Quest, GangStarr, PE, EPMD, LL Cool J, etc... were controlling things in the late 80's early 90's, but the biggest difference was SUPPORT, not to mention the material has a hell of alot better than 99.9% of the sh!t I hear online (no offence) but most people who do hiphop now are AVERAGE!!! That goes for the Sage Francis's to the "unknown bedroom" cats. So I think people need to forget about "the golden era" or whatever it's called, because it's NOT going back to that anytime soon. If alot more people were supporting underground music, it wouldn't be "Underground" anymore, would it? But at the same time I was just talking with Wordsworth, the MC. And this cat does ALL of his own promotion!??!?! I asked him what was up with that? and he responded: "I can't afford a personal publicist, cats don't show support by coming out to underground shows." So muthafu@kaz need to stop complaining and ante up the cash for hiphop they like. The masses do!!!

There's no such thing as underground anymore. Like painted trains, it's just not a reality, it doesn't exist. we can thank whites, indians and especially asians and the internet for that.

burn the day gown. shrink your cap and roll the brim.

and while we're on the topic, wearing sports gear in pastel colors is b!tch.

oh yeah, i read an article in the philly metro two years ago where a police chief was interviewed and he referred to a long white t-shirt and navy dickies or jeans on a black man as "the uniform." he was talking about how hard it was to arrest black people because they all wear identical clothing. but it's true.

Which age group and which area you live in makes a difference. people all over the world are doing the same shit so I guess magazines, video, and your local heros has the same influence. If you are able to economically and socially do as you want it doesn`t matter what you wear in a sense. A kid in the suburbs can wear the same clothes or a kid in the ghetto could wear a navy blue suit and get laughed at it makes no difference only the paradigm one man`s heavan is another man`s hell just my two cents as I see it.

Everybody wants to be cool but they haven`t got a clue so they choose to do as everyone else. And believe it or not brothers really do definite what`s cools if anything else. Only thing is alot of people are caught up with being in the same tribe mentality and they are afraid to be original again. Rather than gib a young cat praise a young cat that show some style, does something different from the others, and isn`t afraid to step away from the rest. He or she could be the next Karl Kani, Tommy, or Simmons. Positive reinforcement goes a long way and making a difference. Anyways after awhile it will get corny cuz everyone and their momma will wear it and the coolness with fade. Faith in the people, keep the faith brother.

Others aren`t the problem.

to answer the first question...cause it sells records and is formulaic (is that a real word?) On the clothing and hat front hahahahahahah too right, looks wack as MC hammer. There is still some great music being made and it doesn't sell as well as the major ish as it doesn't have marketing, promotion and hype. Real DJing seems to be a dying art with the majority of people all playing the same records (warm up dj's through to the headliners, and the headliners who have more power to break records can't be bothered and go for the easy money) and rather than getting people come up and say "Hey whats this tune I havn't heard it it's incredible?" they say "Can you play some 50 Cent, or something we can dance to / know?" There is still some good commercial stuff (especially production wise IMO) We should just look at it as good or bad music, but yeah pink is definately gay  Don't know how it is in the States but Radio is wack over here in the UK with a few exceptions (hopefully I'm one of em) If anyone wants to check it I've got a free mix you can download at http://www.temper-bmc.com/mixtapes.php just click on the DJ Cro one (and check the others too, K Delight in particular) It's got a mix of mid nineties to now US and UK, any feedback appreciated. Peace

listen, the music video is the crack/ cocaine of the ppl, you sit and digest all these videos, for 3 and half minutes, all day long, and you will get sucked in. those who dont have a mind of thier own. the music video is the weapon of choice for mass destruction.
first up its like hollywood, there is standard in thier films, /pertagonist / antagonist.
star fights beats the bad guys and they live happily ever after.

well there is a code for these videos, a super short, film based on social promotion of what we(they) thinkn should be the next fashion. this might sound way off. but they have put a lot of thought into this. and bearing in mind that most record exexcs are gay, they can spread thier beliefs in homosexuality to the young minds, and have it accepted. starting sutlly on colours such as pink, is a good way, and fur, and jewellery, diamonnds are girls best frind. so what is happening is that they are demasculating the male population, the first step to introduce gaydom.
and believe you me, they got time on thier hands.

having the fancy gloss of music videos, shows high budgets, so underground cats cant ascertain to such a produ tion cost, so any thing not deep in colour will be looked upon as lo key and get fliiped over or not played. because it doesnt look like it fits in.

also as for the clothes. wearing jeans low down, is a practice developed by homeless boys who were prostitutes, from in new york, the pants was worn low, with long shirts so as to give a quickie to thier clients around the corner "lift and drop". so still based around homosexuality.
there are different stages, to this massive brain wash, and currently they have succeeded to maintian and reap high successive gains from such. just a matter of time.

i can go on, but i rather not, they are ways of getting around such mass control, and the first step is....

someone who studying film/media, has to be able to make the opening, for underground, and show that there is more than just the fifty cents, and g units out there. a media empire has to be built for the underground to combat the monopoly, meaning a pool of think tanks formulating a plan to manifest those dreams of the artist, those who should do such a thing, should understand there is no moneytary gain from such an assignment.

with the cost of technology constantly dropping, both in video, and audio a task of such is not as hard as you guys may think, and having the internet as your gateway, who needs transmitters!!!
JUST LINK WITH THOSE WHO ARE NOT WIILING TO JUMP ON THE BAND WAGON..

i gotta agree w/ skawala there is a lot of gay propaganda that has been on tv. its also true that the gay propaganda tries to demasculate men. That gay shit on tv is annoying as hell.

I don't know lots of stuff, but speaking as a straight, ole head, this general Gay paranoia is a trip. It's just as much as trip as the current Gay culture infatuation. And the current use of the term, "Gay" to mean damn near everything is confusing and corny as hell. Time to change the channel.

And I agree with Blue Haze in principle, but I don't believe that things are as simple anymore. Back in the day, there were no style consultants getting paid more than our parents were to find out what the hell we were doing, to either exploit or to delay its public birth.

I think that's what's up periood.

There are lots of people's mortgages riding on folks who can't even get a damn mortgage these days.

Peace.
