VIDEO TUTORIAL!!!Mpc 2kxl,motif rack,midi controller,mixer

so how do you pick up where u left off? when u have an MPC, and a sound module and you want all sounds to be back in place right where u left off. what do u do?

I save the multi program on my modules(most modern modules let u do this. THis stores what sounds you have assiged to what midi channel, effects settings etc. its basically like saving an .aps file on your MPC. I name it the same as the beat on the MPC

I save all sequnces and sounds and all programs on the MPC
I make sure name everything the same name

So when i turn on my module , i dial to the multi program with the name of the beat im workin on

Then i load all the SEQ and songs on the MPC,

everything is in its place

I can transfer the muti program from my module to my computer for back up. I usually save everything(MPC files and motif files) in one folder on my computer(a seperate folder for each beat)

Yo man, you are a giving mother******, I would love if you set up a new video about saving. I have a MPC 2000xl and a motif 6. I also use Sonar, but i get mad confused. I just want to make music and all this jargon is making it hard to do so. But I actually learn a lot by sight. So if you get some time, can you hook a brotha up. Thanks Class.

You have to learn that stuff in order to be a good producer, learning your instrament is part of becoming a good musican, rather if its an piano, an ASR 10, an MPC or a flute. Whatever u use to make music u have to be familure with it. THat comes with pratice, time, and patients

As far as the motif 6, the conectp is EXACTLY the same its just your sounds and your keyboards(controller) are combined into one piece of equiment. Do a searh there is plenty out their on it

Yo son i was feeling your tutorial you put together it was madd ill and really easy to understand, but i have a question i see that you have the 2000, and i have the MPC1000, will the same hookup apply to me? Meaning the mixer hookup, the keyboard hookup, and all that good stuff. But yea just wanted to let you know that set is pretty ill and i was feelin your beats also, keep up the good son for real................1

Im bumping this up casue im seeing alot of questions....

Ok I have a midi question for a live setting. If I want my MPC 2000XL to be my master and I have 2 slave keyboard how would I get the 2000 to bring up the exact tones or patches I want to use. I think I understand the basic set up. I am thinking that I would have to run from my midi out on my XL to the midi in on my Roland XP 80 and then from the thru on my XP-80 to the midi in on my Korg Karma. If this set up is not correct please let me know but I think it is. It is actually getting the tones which I want to be called up when a particular sequence is selected on the akai which I don't understand

THis is an exellent question, sense i dont play live i dont have much experince but i know there are a number of opions u can research, i think u can look into doing a sysx dump , which pulls up pacthes on ur MIDI gear. Im not sure exaclty how it works(casue i dont play live) but it is a start

Also ur second option is to save the muli programs on ur korg and ur XP(if they have that ablitity) then u can just pull up the programs on your pieces of gear and go from there....
