yesterday I dumped all my files off the mpc 1k on my mac to keep some open space on my memory card. so last night i had a session, i reloaded a song and my program file was damaged luckly i still had the seq file. Just giving yall heads up to keep back up files, because it sucks to get a mix how you want it and have one of your files go bad.

You know what I noticed, that when you transfer from the 1000 to the computer by USB the files get damaged. This use to happen to me all the time, but ever since I go a flash card reader they I haven’t had the problem at all.

and if you get really lazy....whatever beat you are feeling....you should put it to a multi-track machine and let it loop for a minute and burn it so you can save it for later.

Make sure you eject the mpc on your computer before you unplug the usb lead. If you don't you could be in for trouble.

Must have been something wrong with your PC or something you were doing to cause this. I transfer my samples from MPC to PC via usb all the time. Never had a single problem.

^^ Yeah I have a reader and it works wonders.. No more dragging my laptop to my MPC or vise versa. My bro just got a computer with CF card reader and other memory stick readers attatched to it.. Thanks Bro!!.. Hahaha

Yea I'm thinking of gettin a reader. It's a pain in the ass unplugging the usb every time you want to transfer files, and I also deal with files getting damaged. It breaks my heart.

I also use the USB transfer to PC all of the time without a single problem. I still think I might get a card reader as well for convience reasons (if they are cheap). I don't like connecting and disconnecting a USB cable all of the time either.
