i have a yamaha pss s90 keyboard which has two midi plugs at the back, one in and one out. im wondering about the type of plug at the back of the mpc which a wire connects in between?

also, the midi keyboard has about 100 voices. if i set them on the keyboard, and then play the keyboard keys, will the mpc play and record these voices?

is it possible to assign a voice on the keyboard, to one of the mpc's pads?

thanks for your time,
tee.

ps. sorry if this has already been asked etc. please don't be hostile!

thank you very much. im becoming increasingly comfortable with making the purchase of a mpc1000 due the apparent wealth of information and help out there on it.

There is so much hostility.
Damn. If it bothers people so much why come on here?
You know its gonna be full of people posting questions about stuff you probably already know.
It may have been covered in a previous topic but who has the time to search through all that ****. I mean if you know the topic then just link to it, thats saves the person like 3 hours and takes you 2 minutes. In some cases previous posts might not have covered it in the details the poster wanted, in some cases it might not have been posted at all.. In which case they have wasted hours, just because people are selfish and only want to have topics that help them at their level. I totally understand extremely repetative 'What Ram' and '1000 vs 2000xl' topics being entirely unnecessary though.
And, i've learnt new things from topics that people have re-posted about. People keep adding bits where convienient.

I guess people should chill. (Or get out and not use the forum so much, really though, what are you waiting for? Jay-Z to pop up on the forum and offer everyone record deals?)

i hope not. jayz blows. i'd laugh and throw it right back in his face.

just kidding. but really, i would.

benlewis - more people should use the newbie forum, or else they should make 2 mpc1000 boards - 1 for newbie technical questions and another for advanced tricks and such. i would like that.
