How do I use Time Stretch???

When I use Time Stretch on Logic or something I can just simply adjust the size of waveform to fit the other waveforms. But on MPC4000, Time Stretch is shown as %... I cannot even guess how to adjust it perfectly!!! Please someone tell me the best way!

Just time stretch in the program you're comfortable with and bring the sample back in. Fact of the matter is, some things are more easily done on the computer.

you can timestrech by beat/and or find out the beat in one edit functions in region screen.. dunno not infront of the mpc right now .. the thing is its very easy to find out how much % you need to -/+ if you know the tempo of the loop (if you don't the 4k can tell you) and you know the tempo of your song so just devide the tempo of you song lets say 125bpm with the tempo of your loop 100bpm and you get 1.25 = 25% ..

Use a computer. You can see your samples better on a computer monitor, everything is user friendly.

the reason why i dig the mpc series so much is cos u can put bangin tunes together without involving a pc/mac. i just got tired of sittin there trying to work out why it had crashed and gettin bored instead of writing tunes. i know the 4k has bugs and the o.s isnt ironed out yet but it does evrythin i need it to. call me old fashioned but i sooner know the 4k inside out and have to maybe work to certain restrictions than sit there wading thru endless options and never finish anythin. horses 4 courses i spose. but the 4k & 2k has payed my bills up till now so i guess theres no need to mess with the formula just yet.

Thanks guys. I still have not tried it myself but I guess it involves some math... I think I can work with my Digital Performer to do the Time stretch for me.

Depending on your sample/sound time stretching on MPC can take a while..
