Yo, I been reading on this Midi dump thing. My question is, how much of your memory does a midi dump take up. It would be nice to do since I have a mpc2000xl and a motif, but I don't want to sacrifice my memory to do so. Let me know whats up. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it uses the 300k note sequencer memory(only 50k per sequnce) of the MPC so I wouldnt worry too much about it. Might be wrong though, either way it's not enough info to use up a significant amount of memory.


EDIT: I loaded an old sequence with sys ex messages recorded at the beginning of the track and then deleted the sys ex info, there was no difference in the available memory so...........

sorry ; but since you guys are talkin bout this, can you explain this in lamens terms. i dont quiet understand what u guys are talkin bout .not trying to be a wise guy just trying to learn somthing new. are you saying you can store sample from your memory to your keyboard, is this correct.

please explain explain continue.
