Need some expert advice

I see a lot of posts from people that are using, and swearing by, the infamous ASR 10. I currently have, and don't laugh, a Triton Le 76 Key 'workstation', and was thinkin of dumpin it for a Motif or Fantom rack.

My boy A+ from Souls of Mischief upped me on the ASR about 10 years ago, and now I'm wonderin if I should cop one in place of the Triton. I wanted to know what y'all thought about that. I'm almost tempted not to get it, cuz the MPC 3000 can already sample, but again, I hear a lot of good things about the ASR. Let me know ya think.

it all depends what YOU prefer

the MPC 3000 is already a beast, and it s sequencer is easy to use

I don t have any experience with the ASR10 but if I were you I would try both machines and compare how I make beats with them, and pick out the one that seems the most suited to you

Do you have the sampling board for the korg?

Yeah, but I don't really use it. When I bought my gear, everyone was tellin me to get the Triton. Someone from futureproducers.com told me that I'd get sick of it in no time flat, which is now the case. I'm only askin about the ASR because I know alot of folks on this board use it, and it sounds like the ASR has a lot of features that the Triton Le doesn't. Ultimately, I wanna get some 3k users opinions/advice on : MPC3k + Triton OR MPC3k + ASR

Yeah, the ASR is a really capable sampler, the factory sounds aren't bad either. The thing about the triton is that it comes with a bunch of sounds, so if you need stock sounds for your music, then something like the fantom or motif would be good, the ASR has a great sampler and it can really warp samples in a good way, so if you lean more towards sampling it would be a great combo. The triton is played out and the design isn't so good to really manipulate stuff easily. A moron could use a triton, but not getting their own sound, a moron could use an asr, and get really crazy results.
depends what you need man, but I'm with you on dumping the triton, do it now before they drop in price more.

Thats what I was lookin for Elm. I'm in FULL agreement that the triton is played, the Motif, or maybe the Fantom, will definitely find it's way into my setup within the next month or so. I love to sample, so the ASR alongside my 3k sounds like something worth doin. Thanks again for the input.
