RECYCLE HELP

Can someone help with the time stretching or 'tempo' faeture on recycle, once i have loaded up the sample and sliced it etc i want to timestretch......however the tempo feature does not respond when i click on to it (does not highlight) .....theres something im doing wrong can someone give me a hand.

to Let Recycle...........Know How MANY Pieces U GOT Kick n SNARE ETC....

Then How MANY BEATS N BARS need 2 Be Entered.....................

then Press in the ROUND Graphic Button (Toggle) and then U Should Be On UR Way ........................................

i dont timestretch with recycle. its no good for that shit. You should look into ableton live. I timestretch all my shit with that then bring it into recycle to slice. I turn the stretch all the way to 1% or it leaves that crazy unnatural decay.

Again Recycle Doesn't TimeStrech But I Do Find Many People Who Don't use it much Don't Really Feel it..........................


Its TimeStrech is Activated By settin' Slices then Entering Tempo Changes then Transmiting AS one Sample................................

yeah thats what im saying. its just a chopping tool. Thats its main function.

You are getting a little mixed up between time slice and time stretch which recycle isn`t. You need to enter the number of bars of the loop you are planning to slic. Set the sensitivity of the slices one note per slice until all hits have a slice usually an sensitivity setting under 80%. Hit preview button along the top and now you can adjust the tempo to a new setting 85bpm to 170bpm(drum and bass anyone).

You have several choices one is to export the slices to sampler by slices or a program so that the sequence and slices are written in your drum machines sequencer and you can change it there. Or make a edit or reprogramm a new sequence.

Second you can go to process button hit the save as one slice button and export the loop as a loop at the new tempo. When you export it to your sampler/sequencer it will act as a loop rather than be sliced up.

The others are correct that Live 4 or depending on the mpc timestretching is a different process and can add artifacts if you go more than 20 bpm.


Recycle was designed before working with drum loops in mind mostly so consider that.

Grooves, basslines and etc it`s up to you but I use timestretching mostly.

Please read pages 6, 24,25,26,27,and 28 in your Recycle manual.

thanks guys been a great help, gonan check out ableton live, i have an mpc 1k so theres no time stretching, all i wanna do is record audio from ma turntable in to a program to time stretch and slice it up, and then export back into the mpc.

def use ableton live and recycle. Render your loops in ableton then bring them into recycle to slice and use bluebox to make the programs in the mpc. Ask cats in the 1000 forum for a good 1000 editor.

na ive got a mac so i use the 187 program for that, but to be honest id rather make programs and shit on the actual mpc thats wat its for!
i downloaded ableton it looks good but i dont like the 'feel' of it to be honest , and i cant be bovered to learn the ins and outs of it when i already know logic pretty well, i was basically just looking at what other audio sequencers had to offer cos logic manipulates audio destructively, no matter though i guess ill jus stick to what i know.
