sync looping logic and mpc

I got a little problem i'm wondering if you can help me with. I sync logic (as slave) to my mpc (master) but if i am looping a sequence in the mpc, in logic it does not loop at the same point the mpc does, the song position pointer just carries on going. This is really annoying because i have to keep stopping and starting the mpc when recording exs sounds as i have to wait until the sequence gets to the right point to record, if its not right back to the start i go. Can anybody help me.pleeeeeeaaase.

Have you set loop to ON in the main screen, or are you repeating sequences in songmode? You should be able to playback and record audio from your mpc, as well as timecode and the midi-notes for exs at the same time. There's no need to loop anything in Logic, you can just record it as a full track.
Maybe i didn't understand your question right, let me know what exactly you want to record in Logic.

Alright, let me try to explain myself properly. I'm using the mpc as the master and slaving logic to the mpc. Lets say when i first start a track i'll loop a 4 bar sequence in the mpc and record some drums. Then i might want to add some keys using the exs in logic, i do this also in the first 4 bars. I press play on the mpc and logic syncs perfectly with the mpc. But i can't get logic to loop with the mpc on the 4th bar, logic continues to play past the 4th bar (all the way until the end)while the mpc loops on every 4th bar. This means that i have to stop the mpc and start it again everytime i want to hear the keys at the beginning of the song. I basically want to be able to loop a particular sequence at any position in a song so that i can build on it or rectify it or just listen, when the mpc is the master and logic is the slave. I hope this is a better explanation.

Nish...I could be wrong about this, but I think you have to use the cycle function in logic. Using the mpc as the master will make logic sync when you start the mpc, but I don't think logic will automatically loop when the mpc does. You need to select those 4 bars in logic and cycle it. Hope that helps.

I think ieism explained it right...u shouldn't need to loop drums on MPC when recording to comp.
You can copy the bars u are working with so that it sounds like its looping. Edit->bars->copy from and paste to, make it as long as u want. Now u can record like 16 bars of your "drumloop" to logic on track 1. On track 2 u can lay down keys on bars 1-4 and 9-12 or whatever.

If u only loop 4 bars, that's all time u'll have to work with.

I've tried putting cycle on in logic but that doesn't make it loop with the mpc for some reason thanks for the suggestion though. Some people may assume from my question that i want to record in sync, beats from my mpc to logic, but thats not the case. I just want the MPC and logic to loop at the same point as each other when working on a particular sequence in a song.

Didn't you get my PM? It will never loop at the same point as the mpc.
But if you were to record a 4 bar loop into logic, and cycle that you'll have the exact same thing. Make sure to turn on Timecode and set the bpm in logic to the same as the mpc.
But let's say you don't want to do this for some reason. I understand you want to use a softsynth to add some parts to a drumloop. You can do this by using the MPC's sequencer as well. Set up a track as midi channel A1. Run the midi out A from you mpc to the pc.
Load a new midi track in Logic, and set it to recieve midi on A1. Load a softsynth and set the midi-channel to output to it. Set the track's direct monitor to on. Now turn of sync for a moment.
Press the pads on the mpc, and you should hear the softsynth. Press play on the mpc and you should hear both the synth and the loop. Record on the mpc and it will record the midi notes in the MPC. Once you've recorded and are happy with the result, arm the midi track in Logic as well as any other tracks you want to record. Turn sync back on and start recording your song.
