Changing count/metronome defaults

Is there a way to change the count/metronome default settings?

Example: Changing to 1/8th notes instead of 1/4.

If you're on a 2000 (non XL) like I am, than there's no way to change the metronome sound. I don't believe there's faster metronome timing either, on the XL. But you can change the sounds!

Yes, u can change the metronome timing on the 2kxl, and
you can choose any sample you have as a metronome also.

You didn't specify which MPC you are working with..
