This is my first look at this stuff (re. internet and copyright), so forgive me if this is not on the nail, but these guys are offering a way of selectively copyrighting your work. By embedding a code into your host site, and in your sound file, and linking that to a set of guidelines referring to what someone can and can't do, it is possible to govern how your piece can be consumed.

is this not the kind of law that will aid the free sharing and initial spirit of the net. IE. If I decide that you can use my beats in your own composition then you can, but if I stipulate that you must credit me for using them and you don't - you are in breach of my contract. You then owe me, and it is easy for all to see that.

Am I being naive, or is this a good thing?

I think it's a good thing, at the very least it should make contacting the copyright owner a bit easier.
