When I format a blank (new) zip in the mpc then try to downlad wavs from the computer, the disk won't work in the computer. When I simply insert a blank (new) disk into the computer, download wavs to it then try to use it in the mpc, it won't accept them without formating the disk in the mpc first!

Then I guess I reformated the disk to the mpc and of course wiped all the free samples I could find on the internet within 30 min.

Also I was trying to load the latest o.s.

My question is when, how and in what order do I format my zip so the mpc reads it.

2kxl by the way.

Thanks

Format the disk on the PC using FAT file system. I never format my Zips in the MPC.

Be careful with the latest os since it seems there are a lot of peeps here who've had trouble since the upgrade to 1.20 on the 2kxl.

Penfold says 1.20 is for CF higher than a certain MB or something like that
I can't remember exactly, do a search on his name and maybe you will come up with an answer or just PM him.

I did a search,

Bravo says 1.20's main update is so memory files over 900 some odd megs can be saved as 1 file but you said you use a 1 gig card and haven't had the problem of memory over said number being partitioned. Did i get that right?

I'm just trying to see how necessary 1.20 is.

But that's all it offers is the memory thing? Thanks.

With the 2k class you will need to find an internal scsi card reader.
