Does anyone here take their MPC60 out live?

I am putting a few tracks together with the intention of putting together a live show. although it's a lot of lugging, I would really love to take my studio with me (60 plus a few modules and a desk) to jam and flow. the other option is laptop - but for some strange reason it really does not appeal to me.

has anyone had experience with their 60 on stage... please tell.

I don't, but I am planning on doing live shows in the not so distant future, and I will bring a 60, either mine or preferably a spare, depending on finances of course.

I like Mike's midicase and I will most likely come up with a smaller version for live shows.

I had thought about using other MPC's or other things live, but I figure it is kind of a cop out and I should do it with what I do it with, and rep the MPC 60 live.

yeah that;s whats in my head right now. eg. i played on a friends 2000XL (horrible orange colour!) and that seemed cool for live cos of the mute page, memory, and it's size.

And the laptop is an option. But i kinda thought that i wanna show people the first hand noise coming from my tools. plus it's a good thing to have to control everthing your are doing live.Puts you on edge a little

I've seen many laptop performances over the last couple pf years, and they honestly bore me to death. I like a show, and i think bringing the kit out might make it feel more like an event. for me anyhow, maybe the punters won't give two hoots.

A lot of work though, getting everything set up so that it can run smoothly. time to delve into programme changes I guess...

fuk it, even if it doesn't run smoothly, just keep it edgy then it's kinda punk.
