Selling fantom for MPC 2kxl and Fantom XR: Good Choice?

I've been workin with a MPC 2000XL and a Roland Fantom X6 for a while. I would use the MPC for sequencing and sampling and the Fantom for sounds and what not. However the MPC was not mine and my homie is bout to take it from me so I'm left with only the Fantom. I've tried to get used to sampling with the Fantom and sequencing with it, but i just can't get it.

SO now I want to sell the fantom to get a MPC and purchase a Fantom XR. Is this a good choice? Should I look into a different module? Would I get the same functions from the Fantom XR as I would from the Fantom X6

It really depends on what you really want to work with. I see your use to the MPC so maybe you shoud just buy one and keep your Roland. I'm sure they would make a great team together.

I can't afford to keep the Fantom and buy another MPC. that's the purpose of selling the Fantom.

I've heard that the sampling features on the Fantom are hot! Why not sample into the Fantom and sequence with a software sequencer. Just to save you the money on the MPC.

I've tried everything in my power and it's a wrap................I NEED A MPC. The Fantom samples very well but I just can't get the sequencing down. That was my main intention when I bought the Fantom was to replace the MPC when my friend came to get it, and I tried and tried to work with it. But I just can't get used to it. I guess i got used to the MPC and that was it. I only have a week left with the MPC so......PRAY FOR ME!!

I have that same setup. Mpc and Fantom Xr. The fantom is a beast with the Mpc. I must warn you that the MPC can only trigger notes 35-98, So now you can't use any sounds from notes 28-34, and 99-103 on your Rhythm Kits(drum kits),. There is a way around it. You can create your own user kits and reassign the note number, so it can be triggered from the MPC. The Fantom XR is a synth module before a sampler so it has more filters than the MPC which is good to EQ your drums. To much stuff to cover don't want to kill ya cats! peace!

Ya right , but he's on a tight budget said he can only get Mpc and FantomXr. I have a triton so i'm good.

come on am sure he can scrap-up 50-60 bucks
