ive just brought the mpc2000xl and i cant molest it like i want to
does anybody live ine the new york city / new jersey area that knows of a class that could teach me what the ehell is going on ?

You can learn alot by reading these forums. And if you know what you want to do, chances are you will find the answer using the search finction.

true. but dont forget to experiment before you go off someone else's advice because only you can develope yo style. experience is the best teacher.

i want to learn how to work the machine not make music the music is there in my head
the manuel is like chinese to me i need a class or somewhere to intern to learn how any ideas?

My Advice is this,
Quit being impatient , take ur time, learn things step by step.
YOu not gonna be a pete rock over night, regardless of classes .

the MPC is like any other musical instrament it takes time to understand what it can and cant do.

Also the manual is good, i bet your problem is your tryin to read the whole damn thing instead of taking things step by step. You should Try something, fail at it, then refer to the manual. Basically treat it like a homework project.

Nobody is gonna hold your hand threw this production thing.....

I dont mind giving pointers to noobs, but yo if you wanna learn this you have to take your time like class said.

You need to learn the basics before taking it to the next level. And when you do have a question about something be specific about what it is you need some help with.

I know I kinda hate reading too. I'm more of a hands on person. The MPC is a very intimidating machine. You MUST take your time.

If you have questions I'll be happy to answer them. BUT you must know that if you dont make an effort on your own my help or anyone else's isnt going to help you.

Read the manual to get some basic idea of the machines capabilities. If you still cant understand, come here and post your question and we'll help you out.

to be honest with yall the mpc is soooooo easy to learn. really. thats one of the things i love about it. man you gotta have more specific questions on how to use it....all it takes is to load up some sounds and bang out a beat. if you need help on loading sounds let me know and i can start there. but i would never spend money on a class or school to learn the mpc. dont even think they have things like that. its just not hard.

im sure if you get some sounds loaded up and play around with the different buttons youll learn it. get you some sounds and try that manual again.

Its true last night i loaded in couple of sounds which is hard for me ive got to use a floppy drive, then messed around abot so i learned abit about loading, saving etc.. Pitch shifting a key assigning--So you learn a bit at a time..

see. it does work. that might be the only thing you learned last night, but you'll keep finding out things as you go along! and to know how to load/save will save your life! lol thats important to know! you digg?

man one thing i can tell you. almost anything you can highlight on the screen has another window to it. Highlight something and press the OPEN WINDOW button and a majority of the time it will open up another window with even more things you can do.

i really feel that, but have you ever been studyin or learning something your really into and you like doing? you have no problem wanting to learn more about it or reading up about it! just like music. i dont know how but i've sat up and read thru a whole music term dictionary thing i printed out on the internet. manuals. theory lessons. midi articles stuff like that. so if your really into it then it shouldnt seem tedious (sp?) or boring. you should WANT to learn more, you know?

I agree 100%. Music is my life so if I wanna do this I gotta do what I gotta do to learn. If you dont have the paitence then maybe you should do something else.

I've learned the MP about 3 years ago. I did have a problem with sampling but I just relaxed and let everything flow then bang I got the hang of it.

Dont buy MPCs becuz you hear just blaze has one and you wanna be as cool as he is. Buy one cuz you into it and you have the time to invest in learning to use it.
