i talked to a couple cats that didnt like the low-mid grade Fsrite stuff much. A friend of mine that did the older roots joints said that he has one that he swears by tho, That was one of the ultra high end fsrite pres though, he said it was like 3g of some crazy number for 2 chnls. the lower end stuff is not as good as other stuff you can get in that price range in my opinion, (RNP, RNC) but this cat loves his unit, didnt get the details on the name though. so much for details.enough about pres,
mpc 4000s seem to be getting more and more rare. akai has not been producing them much at all. Appereantly, they are in the middle of moving all of the production to china and havent made anything but 1000s and the pads. the 4s are last of their interest to get started on , i guess. GC inNYC doesnt have any on display or instock and hasnt had any in months, 8th street in phill doesnt have any, zzounds.... I dont know if they are on hold or what.
Anyhow, I hope that they dont give up on updating the ak sys program. getting used to using a software interface for a hardware tool and then having to deal with a company that stops making that software gets disenfanchising.
