Lowering the volume in a song

How do you come into a song with gaining the volume and then end a song with decreasing volume...can this be done on the MP or do I need to do it in a program?

You mean, like, fade in - fade out? I think it would be tricky, but it might be possible if you record your MAIN OUT and manually fade in and out. Thats the only way i can think of doing it without any additional software or hardware.

So I have to do it inside a program? Can you recommend any good programs for it? Can I do it with Cubase SL 2.0? Thanks for any help.

You can do it in any recording porgram, Just go to the mixing section and mix it.
