just bought my 1000 and want to know how to chop a sample that i'll get off a turntable....i don't know if this is a stupid question but if i have a sample can i remove all the snares and kicks just to get a voice sample or drum? please gimmie that advice i need

umm i bought mine off ebay with no manual, i pretty much figured it out except choppin a beat, any help please

search function might help. i think you can even download the manual from the akai site. you cant remove the drums and make a track into accapella. you can cut the drums out and try to piece it together but i dont if thats what youre looking for. chopping is basically trimming a sample to extract the portion you want to use. how to chop is pretty easy, picking out what you wanna chop makes it interesting, but thats up to you. maybe you can try to chop up a well known sampled song?

Get a loop u like copy a buch of times, then start with the first copy and isolate a small section in the Trimmer, then move to the next copy and pick another section etc. Always keep a full copy just in case u need something else from the sample. erase the full samples when ur sure ur done. Don't forget to use Edit on each sample to erase the parts u don't want, that will save memory for u.
