Theres a used record store near my house, has thousands of 50 cent records.
i dont know if ive ever payed more that like ten bucks, max, for a record. If you spend some time lookin at this place, you can find some fresh records.

whats the most youve ever paid for a record?

I hate shopping at thrift stores, because most of the records are sh*t. The record store beside my house always has good records, but I hate spending $10 every time.

man i've paid 2.95 per record and i bought 47 records paid 88 bucks all great sht too. records dont have a price for me if i want it or need it i'll pay for it,
sht i paid twenty bucks on the net for a 12" single that i was lookin for bought a few records from the uk and paid 80 bucks for four records.
some times if you ask the right person you can get a discount on a bundle of records i've usually got 15% you can ask for 10-15 % discount but you got to buy a lot you dig.

I always go bargain-hunting. I like deals, like 50 records for 15$. Its so much better than spending 15$ on buying some rare record. Chances are, the samples on the 15$ record are more likely to be used by others, than some sample you find on a record thats just lying around. I like diversity, thats why i never buy rare or expensive records.

Complete agreement with the hand raised for thrift store ish. Also looking at the hand that forked out $20 for a mint Jimmy McGriff - "Stump Juice". Either selection has brought a smile to my face on more than one occasion. Expensive records may have their place in some collections, but the cheap ones at the thrift store have always provided better sampling material.

I luv cheap records, u come home with alot of sh!!!t to sample from (my gurl don't like it that much, but she understands though. ) If it's something I want to listen to also then I don't mind spendin more.

yeah im not opposed to paying more for things that i buy to listen to. But it just feels sooo good to come home with 20 records for 10 bucks, or something and have all these records to sift through and play with.

plus, if they are wack, then you can be more sure no ones already sampled them, and so if you can make them fresh.....

THAT IS THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD.

when you listen to something and youre like, wow this record is wack. then you listen a littlle more, and youre like, hey maybe i could... pull this....chop that.... filter that.....

I'm a cheap bastard, dollar bins unles somethign really good catches my eye. I don't even dig in pricier bins if I can help it.

i dig for cats that im looking for or want to check out, so i spend bout $4 to $15 on most records. I check the dollar bins out once and a while, but i usally just head to the jazz section. The most i have ever spent on a record to sample was $30.

i am the cheapest, most picky digger around. One of the stores i go to (went there last week), has a giant bin full of 45s for 10c. I go straight to that bin everytime i go there, and spend hours sifting through thousands of 45s to get some hot s**t for under $3. When it comes to LPs, i pay no more than $2 per record...and i rarely pay over $1. i find the best samples on cheap s**t.

The most i EVER payed for a record was $10...and thats only because it was an original Axis: Bold as Love by the Jimi Hendrix Experience....and i couldnt resist.

speakin of jimi hendrix...i picked up electric ladyland in really good condition for $3...the cover was in bad shape, tho.

I love the dollar bins. I've found many sick records for $0.25-0.99
Having said that, I've spent $50-60 several times on hard to get stuff that I wanted. Highest I've paid was $80. And I've paid every price in between.

When you think about what CDs cost (almost $15-20 with tax)......paying the same $15-20 for a good piece of vinyl isn't really that outrageous in my opinion.
