Hello there... ive got a 2000XL at the moment & im using the 'MPC Edit' software to make my drum programs on the PC, export to zip then load em up in the 2000XL...

Is there any software out there that can do this for the 1000? does it come with any such software?

Thanks

Carl.

bluebox was written just for the 1000 by a fellow forum-er: waxaegis. It's a very good program and imo it is better than mpc program creator.

yeah cheers man, I checked it out earlier... looks good..

hope I dont regret selling the 2KXL... its got all the upgrades, but ive never used the FX once, only use the main stereo outs.. I use a PC for everything, but I just love making beats on the MPC, just seems silly having the upgraded XL when a 1000 will do everything I need...

Only things im slightly worried about, are the pads (maybe not as good as the 2kXL) + the lack of track velocity.. but apart from I think it will be a wise move..

IMO the pads on all of the mpc's are the same with the exception of the size. the feel of all are one in the same to me. the 1k pads are a little smaller than the 2kXL

if you rusing a pc alongside your mpc you should be fine. I'm not saying that you a need a pc with the mpc1k, but that if you sell your 2000 you'll be fine.

metafor you are right.... in a sense.

The ONLY thing a pc is good for with the 1k is for data transfer. A big misconception surrounding the mpc 1k and a computer that i've noticed from people here on the forum and when people ask me about it is that you can use the mpc1k's usb with your computer for things other than transferring files between the 1k and computer. the only thing your computer sees when you have the usb connected is a big card reader that's it nothing else. now sure you can connect your 1k to your computer via midi and audio out, but then you can do that with every mpc

all ive been doing with the 2XL is creating programs with 'MPC Edit' load them onto the Zip then into the MPC... play the beats, then one by one record them into the PC when ive got some patterns im happy with...

Ive never sampled with the 2XL once.. and ill just be doing the same thing with the 1K... just getting the beats together on the PC, dumping them down to the MPC, then getting them back into the computer as finished patterns.. I dont use most of the features, but its more fun, quicker and easier with better results doing drums on the MPC, seems silly not to do it this way!

So yeah, I reckon from what you guys say I will be fine with the 1K...
