Right Q-link slider

Is the right q-link slider supposed to be completely unresponsive? When I move it, nothing happens, but when I move the left one it moves and controls the right one. Is this normal? Even when I test it in global it doesn't move. I bought this off of ebay and I want to know if this is how it's supposed to be, or do I have a problem. Looked all over the manual and it tells me nothing .

No, no. Exactly the opposite. When I move the left the right goes with it. But the right doesn't move independently on its own. It doesn't even have the same tension as the left one. When I first got it, I just assumed it was like that just like how a keyboard usually has 2 distortion rollers on the left side of the keys, but only one has tension and can be used during play. But I didn't see anywhere in the manual where it says this and I'm seriously beginning to wonder. I also can't get my damn effects to work either, but that's a whole nother story . Man, this manual is lacking .

No. Since you already tested the slider in the Global test mode and you get no respose well then there is a problem. It could just be a loose connection.

So everybody's right slider works in Global test mode? Let me know quick because I'm plan on contacting the seller early tomorrow if that's the case. Can somebody please check for me? Thanks.

Of course the slider should work in Global test mode, that is where test mode is designed for in the first place. Your MPC is defective. But as Adrian already said, it could be just a loose connection.

That's what I thought. I hope it's not much to get it fixed.

Yeah the hardware in the mpc is cheap and ######, ive gone through 2 sliders in 1.5 years. take it to a service center and get the fader replaced, theres no wires to come loose as its soldered directly to the circut board.

for a temp fix try spraying with an electrical lubricating spray. get the nozzle right in the gap.

I just sent it back to the music shop I got it from today. That sh*t cost $70 bucks to pack and ship, but they said they would reimburst me. I called Forat before that and that clown was talking about $150 to fix. Even though I live near L.A., I was like forget that. I was just starting to get into it and now all of a sudden I got another 2 weeks of downtime. This is ridiculous. Can't wait till that fusion comes out...........

Will u be selling the 4000 or keeping it to use with the fusion if so why/why not?
