Hardware vs Software your opinion Please?

OK i know a lot of people are gonna disagree with me on this. Let me figure out how to put this. basically even though i know a lot of ill producers use computers and especially protools and more and more people are using the computer in there studio. Theres like 9 million new young cats out there on fruityloops. So it seems in the future and right now even, very little people be using ONLY analouge hardware.

IM trying to keep analouge alive, and using only hardware samplers, sound modules, drummachines tubes, compressors, Eq.s mixers,pedals, effects processors. things that were designed to make music not resumes. reports and spreadsheets.

I dont really care what you use, this is my approach my style. In my opinion i am the guy oil painting while tons of people are using photoshop.

Disagree with me if you want. Once again i do this because i want a certain sound. i try to make my stuff sound gritty and old. ill sample onto a tape then put it in boom box in a certain room then sample it through a microphone far away and through that in for 2 bars.

im not trying to Say any studio set up is better than the other. and im definitly not telling anyone not to use a computer i just want to know how many people use computer vs hardware, and to what extent.
It just something i am doing to define my style. obviously 90% of people here i assume would be using at least one piece of hardware mpc 2000, 2000xl.

I use both hardware & Software they each have a purpose. Most all of it's Software anyway some in separate boxes, Majority in the computer.

they work well together. mpc has the rock solid reliability. wheres the computer seq's are much easier to edit as you get a graphical depiction of your sequences and automation data, and its easier to jog through and see your projects as a whole.

Hardware for me...It's how I learned ....

man im st8 on computer based beat. not feelin that at all. when i think of computer beats i think about sprewell hubcaps. but i record on a computer. mpc/vsome wax/ microkorg. if you cant put ya hands on it it aint real.

in my opinion software limits what you can do with your fingers and keys

i used software for years but finnaly went hardware and in my opinion u can't fully control your music when u use software specially not with garbage ass fruityloops when i went hardware and left the software alone it made me feel like an real producer

for those who perfer hardware over software what software have you used?

i am not saying software is better or worse than hardware or vice versa but "MOST" individuals at this forum do not have enough experence with hardware or software is know the benifits of each.

if i was on a tight budget and brought 1000s of dollars of hardware i would think hardware is better also. if you know your history of software the first vsti were model-e, retro as-1 and ppg wave 2.v and now we have lounge lizard, sonik synth 2, sampletank 2xl and reason 3.0 (with the bugs but the potential is there) which sound just as good as any hardware (not saying that is better).

if you only been making music/beats for a minute or two i understand your opinions but software is the wave of the future. that is why korg, yamaha, alesis, etc are making software.

if you want my opinion, my mpc is better than any software sequencer i've used. your right i dont have enough experience with both to be able to say one is better then the other, but since this is in my opinion my mpc is better then whatever software i've used

what are you comparing your mpc's sequencer with? cubase, logic, fruityloops, sonar, reason, live, tracktion, band in the box, pro tracks what?

the cheapest cubase version which is the se version ($99) is a better sequencer than mpc. ask anyone who has used/know how to use cubase.
