Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

there dope man, and they dont compare to the s950's filters.

When you say they don't compare, what do you mean? s950 is better? mcs42 is better? or they are just so different you can't compare?
thanx for the input!

I haven't tried the MFC, but judging by the advertisement, I figured the Korg MS2000 would be a better buy. You can use its filters to process external sounds, plus you get distortion, delay, and mod FX, and they can all be automated. Not to mention the obvious (nice synth sounds).

I know I didn't really answer you question... just thought I'd offer an alternative.

I have the miniKorg right now which is fresh to def, especially for the price, got mine from G-center for $325. I didn't really think of running samples through korg to use korg filters before sampling, mainly to use the low and high pass filters. I still like the option of pluging turntable directly into MFC. Right now I run back and forth between 1200's & sampler.
Thanx for the input and if anyone else has opinions on the MFC filters please post.
peace

it's got analog filters, that will kill the MS2000 and all them alone, I think a lot of people sleep on it, I have enough filters but if I found one cheap there's no way I'd pass on it.

It is a great piece especially when you hook it up via midi to your XL. All the movements you make with the Cutoff Wheel can be recorded in realtime.

the frostwave resonater is one of the dopest filters ive used in a while. but yeh i dont think you should compare the mfc42 and the s950.

The resonator is dope, but it doesnt have an envelope follower or an envelope, so any dynamics are by hand. The MFC is a good tool, people poo poo it too much cuz they only know a few things to do with a filter.

But that's got some nice features witht he LFO and the dual modes.
