Comments on a beat Im doing(39 sec)

I want your opinion on this beat, it's not done yet cause I want to ad a breakdown. But I want y'alls opinion. Like maybe its a good intro or interlude skit song?? Maybe I should go with this track and add a breakdown? Maybe add cowbells, shyt, I dunno. Just want some feedback and opinion.If the beats wack, say so. Thanks!!!

Im alsotrying some new methods of recording, I've run this beat thru the 303-tape, back to the 303 to tape and back to the 303 again. So its like I did the beat, taped it, then put it in the 303, then back to tape and again in the 303. So basically this beat is just kicking it in the 303. I mean, I just like dirty tracks, f*ck all that plastic radio shyt. I know many of you feel the same way.

That beat is nasty... Shyt would be dope as a full song man.

Yeah, definitly full song, but I'm not sure I'd go through so many tape generations, you're losing a lot of high end and the bass just keeps getting bigger, which you might think is good, but it's getting muddy, and as you add more elements it will be harder to hear the rest of the track's detail.

I'd grab the sample again and develop it in the 60 or whatever you used this time, get it all set up, then hit the tape once, and hit it hard, adding the generations. It's a good experiment to run it to tape so much, but I would have tried it with the SP-12 rather than the 303, cause the 12 is real crispy and the tape would muck it up good.

Good experiment though, I'm glad you're thinking of stuff like this. You might want to leave a tape in the sun for a day and see what happens too, but make sure you keep a clean copy of it somewhere in case you like the results and wish you did something different.

Mos def full song material. I know a few emcees that could murder that shyt. Experimentation is mind expanding.... Uno

Ya, I noticed that tape adds more bass. What if I take the bass'd up version and play it with the cleaner version at the same time? I gotta f*ck with the sp12!! Thanks for the input.

if you hit the tape hard then it doesn't matter, you can just hit it once to tape and use that. Of course you could use the low end theory, just have the track rockin but have a copy of the track playing at the same time through a really low filter so it's only the bass. Easy to do on the 303, no need to do the crazy bouncing to tape and back.

Thier is definately not enough here for a full song, even if it had a breakdown.This is a 25-30 second interlude fade away beat, premo/pete rock style. If you were gonna consider making it a full beat though, then you'd need to lay some cracking drums over the top of the break currently looped up. The whole time I was listening, it was like I was waiting for the drums to drop in. Take another break and high pass it, lay the hats an the snare over the top.. something like that. Honestly though, your best bet is just leave it as interlude.

The tape degration is ill though. I'm all about that murked out sound. Props.

yeah, it needs more development, like more drums over top, but I still think it can be a dope andreas song.

Yo lo Pass, you should do a quick search for DJ Andreas in the 60 forum, he's posted like 6 mixtapes worth of beats that are just dusty one nighters that ooze so much vibe you gotta take a shower after listening.

Yeah i'm feelin it . throw some drums on top to bring some clarity to it then finish it and that ish will be HOT!!!
